Why Do We Have Uniform?

We believe that school uniform is an important part of our community here at The Sky Academy because:

• students develop a sense of belonging and avoid being discriminated against by what they are wearing.
• a smart appearance and sense of identity will have a positive impact on behaviour and respect of others.
• it provides a sense of pride and identity.
• it promotes the good reputation of our school within our local community.

What Is Our Uniform?

Uniform consists of:

• Black Sky Academy branded polo shirt or a plain black top with no more than a small logo
• Black Sky Academy branded hoodie or a plain black jumper / hoodie with no more than a small logo
• Black shoes / black trainers. These items are mandatory.

On admission, all students will be provided with 1x polo shirt and 1x sweatshirt.  Students and parents are responsible for the care and replacement of uniform.

Although we offer academy-branded uniform, purchasing this is optional; required, unbranded uniform items can be purchased from any high-street store or supermarket.

Uniform will be checked daily as part of tutor group registration by the keyworker. Uniform should be seen. Pupils who are wearing uniform will be awarded bonus points to promote wearing it.

If a student continues to not comply with the uniform policy, further sanctions will be applied which may lead to parents / carers being asked to attend a meeting with the Principal.
