We have been marking Knife Crime Awareness Week here at The Sky Academy, with students taking part in a range of activities across the curriculum to explore the impact and consequences of knife crime.
Students collaborated to create a powerful piece of artwork inspired by the Knife Angel, which recently visited Somerset. This project encouraged reflection on the effects of violence on individuals and communities.
Across other areas of the curriculum, students examined knife crime statistics, learned basic first aid and how to respond in a potential knife-related incident, explored the physical impact of knife injuries on the body, and considered the wider risks and consequences associated with carrying a knife.
These activities have provided students with valuable knowledge and awareness, helping them to make informed and responsible choices.
