Uniform

Why do we have uniform?

We believe that school uniform is an important part of our community here at The Sky Academy because:

• Pupils develop a sense of belonging and avoid being discriminated against by what they are wearing.
• A smart appearance and sense of identity will have a positive impact on behaviour and respect of others.
• It provides a sense of pride and identity.
• It promotes the good reputation of our school within the community.

What is our uniform?

Uniform consists of:

• Black Sky Academy branded polo shirt or a plain black top with no more than a small logo
• Black Sky Academy branded hoodie or a plain black jumper/hoodie with a not more than a small logo
• Black Shoes/ Black Trainers.

On admission all students will be provided with 1 x Polo shirt and 1 x Sweatshirt.  Students and parents are responsible for the care and replacement of uniform.  Uniform can be purchased through the school at a subsidised rate.

Uniform will be checked daily as part of tutor group registration by the keyworker. Uniform should be seen. Pupils who are wearing uniform will be awarded bonus points to promote wearing it.

If a student continues to not comply with the uniform policy further sanctions will be applied which may lead to parents/carers being asked to attend a meeting with the Headteacher.
