A group of Lower School pupils from The Sky Academy enjoyed an inspiring educational visit to M Shed in Bristol.
M Shed is a free and popular social history museum located on Bristol’s historic Princes Wharf, dedicated to sharing the city’s unique history and stories — from prehistoric times through to the present day.
During the visit, pupils were fascinated to learn more about how Bristol has changed over time and how these developments have shaped the people and cultures of both Bristol and Somerset. The experience gave students the opportunity to engage with local history in an interactive and meaningful way.
Pupils also explored significant moments in modern history, including the impact of the Black Lives Matter movement on Bristol and Somerset, encouraging thoughtful discussion and reflection about social change and equality.
A spokesperson for the academy said: “Our pupils had a fantastic day exploring the rich and diverse history of Bristol at M Shed.
“Visits like these help bring learning to life and encourage students to think critically about the world around them, both past and present.
“We are incredibly proud of how engaged and respectful the pupils were throughout the trip.”
